mazo was started by A Madhumitha (Madhu), a fashion designer who grew up sketching clothes long before she knew how fashion brands actually worked. What began as pages of ideas slowly turned into a constant obsession with silhouettes, textiles and the feeling clothes can create.
The idea came from wanting to see Indian fabrics live more naturally in everyday modern wardrobes. Indian textiles are admired all over the world, often far from where they came from. mazo is her way of bringing them home, cut into western shapes that feel current and easy to wear.
Built slowly and with care, mazo is less about nostalgia and more about giving these fabrics a new everyday life.
