About the Founder
Mazo was started by Madhu, a fashion designer who grew up sketching clothes long before she knew how fashion brands actually worked. What began as pages filled with ideas slowly turned into a constant obsession with silhouettes, textiles, and the feeling clothes can create.
The idea behind Mazo came from wanting to see Indian fabrics exist more naturally in everyday modern wardrobes. After constantly seeing textiles like Madras checks and handloom cotton appreciated globally - often disconnected from where they came from - Mazo became a way to reinterpret them through western silhouettes that feel current, effortless, and easy to wear.
Built slowly and thoughtfully, Mazo is less about nostalgia and more about giving these fabrics a new everyday life.
